How to crochet
Make a slip loop and place on hook. Holding the hook in the right hand as if holding a pencil and the thread in the left hand by placing round the little finger and over the first three fingers, hold end of loop between left thumb and forefinger, pass hook under thread (Diagram 1) and draw a loop through. Continue until required number of chains is obtained. This chain makes the foundation for the following crochet stitches.
Insert the hook into 2nd chain from hook, pass hook under thread and draw through chain and loop already on hook. Repeat on next chain. (Diagram 2)
Insert hook into next chain, hook under thread (Diagram 3) and draw through chain (Diagram 4) hook under thread and draw through remaining two loops. (Diagram 5)
